Our Vision: We exist to know Jesus & to make Him known.

Our greatest passion is to know Jesus & our greatest goal is to make Him known (Philippians 3:7-11, 1 Corinthians 2:2, 2 Corinthians 5:17-21, 1 Peter 2:9).

Our Values: Our heartbeat at Southern Heights is to glorify God. Our desire is for these Bible-rooted core valued be believed, taught, and demonstrated in the church and in the world (1 Corinthians 10:31, Revelation 4:11)!

1. We are Word-Driven for God’s Glory

God’s Word is in the driver’s seat at Southern Heights. We are committed to being filled with His Word in order to be fueled by His Word (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, Romans 10:17, Hebrews 4:12).

2. We are Gospel-Centered for God’s Glory

The Gospel is the good news about what Jesus Christ has done to reconcile sinners to a holy God. Our desire is for the Gospel of Jesus Christ to saturate our teaching, ministries, & relationships.

3. We are Disciple-Makers for God’s Glory

We believe the God-given job description for every Christian is to make disciples (Matthew 28:16-20). Disciple making is not for the “expert” Christian, but for every believer. A disicple is someone who faithfully follows Jesus in every sphere of life. So a disciple-maker is a faithful follower of Jesus who helps teach and show someone else how to faithfully follow Jesus.

4. We are Mission-Focused God’s Glory

We are focused on proclaiming the Gospel to the ends of the earth because the worship of God is at stake. We believe missions exist because the worship of the only true God doesn’t.

We are moved & motivated to give & go on mission because billions of people are not worshipping the one true God who is worthy to be worshipped. Instead, they are sadly worshipping someone or something that leads to an eternity in Hell (Matthew 28:16-20, Acts 1:8, Romans 10:14-15, John 3:16)

5. We are Unifed for God’s Glory

We believe this quote by Augustine adequately sums up our desire for unity within the Southern Heights Church, “In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, in all things charity.”

We believe that Jesus Christ not only reconciled us to God, but also to one another other. Therefore, it glorifies God when His people experience & display a supernatural unity & diversity (John 13:34-35, 1 Peter 3:8, John 17:22-23).
